Life Right Now

Since I am kind of stuck on the couch with a pinched nerve in my neck and upper back, I thought I would write this post out, because I am not sure when else I would be able to.

Other than the occasional mention of daily happenings, I haven't been doing a whole lot of posting on life right now.  Here is a little update on some of what is going on, and what is about to happen over the next couple months.

 > I am more than half way through my semester with College prep, and have my first CLEP test behind me.  With 6 college credits now under my belt, I am currently working on Western Civ 1 which I need to test for before the end of May.  If you haven't heard about College Prep or College Plus, I would highly recommend looking into it for dual credit and college credit options at an affordable price and in a much faster time frame.  <

 > Graduation planning is under way which means putting together a slideshow, writing my speech, figuring out senior pictures, invitations etc.  I am also planning on making a dress which I ordered part of the material for this morning.  Two hints on that project: Coral and lace.  Can't wait to share pictures of it when I am finished! <

> I currently have the first hundred plants for the garden started in our mud room.  Many more will be started and direct sown over the next month. <

> We have around 12 calves currently, with more coming throughout the next couple of months.  The pasture is filled with adorable bucking calves.  It is really fun to watch them all.: )  Unfortunately we have lost 3 calves and two mamas this year. <

Coming up

>The end of May, things get really crazy.  Grandpa and Grandma are going to try and come up the week before my graduation which is Friday, May 23rd.  We have to leave for OK the following Sunday on the 25th.<

>Most of our family will be in OK for the month of June. Us older kids will be spending that entire time packing in intensive training in karate, and hopefully some promotions as well.  It will be a really long, but beneficial, as well as enjoyable month.  Until then we have to make sure we are at the requirements for our belt rank.  I am getting pretty excited about June! <

>There is so much to get figured out and do (at least 10+ big projects) before we can leave, including getting someone to take care of our animals.  The horses and cows will just have "checking up on" attached to them but the dogs still have to be fed everyday. <

As if everything listed above wasn't enough to keep us busy, all of us are going to try and take our horses out on the trails for a couple of hours each week, and keep up with music practice.

As you may have already guessed, blogging is going to have and go on the back burner for me during these next 2 months.  I will post when possible, but it certainly will not be my top priority.  Don't be surprised if you don't hear anything out of me for the entire month of June.  I am sure that any time not spent training (which will be very small) is going to be spent resting, and visiting with different people who we haven't seen for over 2 years.
Ahhh the life of a big family.  Very busy, but I love it and miss the busyness when it is not present.

What plans do you have for this summer?  Do you like having a crazy busy schedule or a laid back one with time for spur of the moment plans and projects?
